Since "Revenge of the Shadow Masters" (a sequel to "The Quest to Find the Dark Hills") is going to be the second game released by Slackers Inc., I thought I'd get discussions on the game started early. This is just a pre-demo release discussion to update you, the fans, on what's been done thus far and to get any additional input you have. So, let's get started:
Has Slackers Inc. even started on the game?
Absolutely! The coding for "Revenge of the Shadow Masters" began in late March/early April.
How much has been coded?
A majority of level 1 has been coded but it's still a bit rough.
What will be/is different with this game?
Several improvements have been made, including how you communicate with other characters and how the player progresses through the game. In this sequel there will be many more puzzles to solve as well. Also, along with the game install, there will be an actual Read Me file that shows up in the start menu for the game.
What kind of puzzles are being put in this one?
The player will have to interact with other characters to acquire important information they need to progress through the game. There will also be times when multiple items have to be found/collected for the player to successfully finish a level. Also, like in "The Quest to Find the Dark Hills," there will be riddles which need to be solved if you wish to beat "Revenge of the Shadow Masters."
When will the first demo/beta version be released?
A short version has been sent to a couple of beta testers already. As for an official demo release to the general public, there has not been a date set so stay tuned for further updates.
With all of that being said, we here at Slackers Inc. would like to know what you think. Do you have any ideas on puzzles or conflicts to make the game more exciting? Are there custom commands or cheats you want included in this second game? How about insider jokes or hidden "Easter eggs" you'd like to see? Is there anything else you want to comment on?
